Pamela Cotham,
is the Purchasing Agent for Anderson County. The office of the
Anderson County Purchasing Agent is governed by the County Purchasing Law
of 1957, Tennessee Code Annotated 5-14-101. The Purchasing Department
is the central buying agency for all Anderson County Government Departments
and the Anderson County School System. Purchasing is responsible for the
acquisitions of all materials and services, as well as receiving and
disposing of surplus property. Departments needing fixed assets,
materials, supplies, or labor forward requisitions to the Purchasing
Department, who then obtains price quotes or issues formal bid
solicitations in order to find the best value for the lowest price
possible. Every purchase is made in Anderson County's best interest
while providing all vendors with a fair, open and equal opportunity to do
business.
In order to stay informed of the latest
procurement techniques and product information, the Purchasing Department
maintains an active membership in the National
Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), the Tennessee Association of Public Purchasing
(TAPP) and the East Tennessee
Purchasing Association (ETPA).
