Steve Mead

Commissioner Steve Mead is serving his first term as County Commission
representative from District 6. His district includes Oak Ridge City Hall,
Robertsville and West Hills precincts.
Commissioner Mead presently serves on:
- Budget Committee
- Legislative Committee
- Nominating Committee
- Redistricting Committee
- Veterans Service Advisory Committee

Commissioner Mead retired after 21 1/2 year in
the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, and brought his wife, Leslie, and their four
daughters to Anderson County, in December of 1987. He has worked at the
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP/
K-25), and now works at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
He has served on the U.S. DOE Oak Ridge Site
Specific Advisory Board overseeing DOE Environmental Management activities
since 2007. Colonel Mead joined the Tennessee State Guard in 2003 and
is now serving as the Commanding
Officer of the 3rd Regiment which is headquartered in Knoxville and supports
23 counties in East Tennessee.
