Myron Iwanski, Chairman


Commissioner Myron Iwanski is serving his fourth term as County Commission representative from District 8. His district covers the east end of Oak Ridge and includes the Glenwood, Emory Valley, and Hendrix Creek voting precincts.

Commissioner Iwanski is currently Chairman of County Commission and serves on:

  • Non Profit Committee
  • Revenue Committee
  • Rules Committee

Commissioner Iwanski's goal is to work to run the county more business-like by:

  • Supporting efforts to put more of the available school funding into the classroom and getting the State to fund its fair share
  • Holding the line on debt
  • Keeping property taxes as low as possible while maintaining quality service
  • Funding initiatives to attract quality jobs and businesses
  • Finding and using ways to make county government more efficient
