The Anderson County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at 9:00 A.M., July 19, 2010 in Room 312 of Anderson County Courthouse, 100 N. Main Street, Clinton, Tennessee, a request for rezoning of the following property from R-1 to C-1. The property is located at 995 Edgemoor Road, Clinton, TN. 37716 and can be further described as a portion of Anderson County Tax Map 96, parcel 140, 1.75 acres.

                                Public Notice to fill Vacancy

 The Anderson County Board of Commissioners will fill the vacancy of County Commissioner representing District 3 at the April 19, 2010 quarterly session starting at 9:30 a.m. in room 312 of the Anderson County Courthouse, 100 N. Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716.

 District 3 represents Andersonville, Clinch Valley, Fairview and Norris precincts. The County Commission Office will be accepting resumes for consideration in filling the unexpired term ending August 31, 2010.  The deadline for filing a request will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Noon in room 118 of the Anderson County Courthouse.

NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ANDERSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE    

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all County Commissioners and residents of Anderson County, Tennessee, and to all other persons who might be interested, that open, public, regular meetings of the Anderson County Board of County Commissioners during the 2010 year will be held on the third Monday of each month with exceptions as follows:

1)     Due to the observance of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. on the third Monday in January 2010, the regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 starting at 9:30 A.M

2)    Due to the observance of Presidents Day on the third Monday in February 2010, the regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 starting at 6:30 P.M

The April, July and October meetings will be held on the third Monday beginning at 9:30 A.M.; and on the third Monday of all other months at 6:30 P.M.

All meetings will be held at the regular meeting place of the Board in the Anderson County Courthouse in Clinton, Tennessee.  There will be considered at such meetings any matter which may properly come before the Board at regular scheduled meetings.

Anderson County Beer Board                                                                                 

 Two (2) Members to fill two unexpired terms                                                       (1) ending 9/10 and (1) ending 9/11.

The Beer Board was established for the purpose of licensing, regulating and controlling the transportation, storage, sale, distribution, possession, receipt and/or manufacture of beer.

Anderson County Conservation Board

One (1) member 5 year term ending 12/2014

The Conservation Board is composed of five (5) members appointed by the legislative body.  The board’s guidelines are detailed in Tennessee Code Annotated 11-21-101 and a summary would be to oversee parks and recreation.  All applicants must be residents of Anderson County.

In accordance with TCA 13-7-205, the Board of Zoning Appeals consists of five (5) members and one alternate.  Terms are for five (5) years and are staggered.  In accordance with TCA 13-7-207 powers of the Board of Appeals are 1) Hear and decide appeals where it is alleged is error in any order, requirement, permit, decision or refusal; 2) Hear and decide requests for special exceptions or for interpretation of the map or for decisions upon other special questions; and 3) grant variance.

Civil Service Board                                                                                                 One (1) Member, 3 year term, ending 9/2012

In accordance with T.C.A. 8-8-404 thru 8-8-406, the Civil Service Board is composed of three (3) members selected by the legislative body.  All members of the board shall be over eighteen (18) years of age, of good moral character, citizens of the United States and the State of Tennessee, must reside in Anderson County, and they shall not hold any elected or appointed office within the county.

The county legislative body may appoint (3) residents of the county of lawful age to act as jail inspectors for the ensuing year. Some of the duties are to visit and examine the county jail once each month or oftener and provide a report to County Commission of the state and condition of the prisoners and the jail.

(a) The county legislative body may, at its January term of each year, appoint (3) householders or freeholders,   residents of the county, of lawful age, to act as jail inspectors for the ensuing year, or the court may appoint such inspectors at any other time to act for a shorter period.

(b) The county mayor shall be an ex officio inspector of the jail in each county.

LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Anderson County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. December 17, 2007 in room 312 of the Anderson County Courthouse, 100 N. Main Street, Clinton, TN, to discuss amendments to the Zoning Resolution and the Zoning Map.

In summary, the amendments include the addition of requirements for Joint Permanent Easements (JPE) which allows up to four parcels to be served by a joint permanent easement constructed to standards defined in the resolution. The lots can not be further subdivided and the JPE will not be taken into the County highway system. There are requirements for a property owner’s association (POA) to be formed and maintenance costs to be shared equally by the POA.

Additionally, section 6.5.B. was revised to resolve conflicting language based on the JPE requirements and section 6.5.E. was deleted to resolve conflicting language with the JPE requirements. Finally, the entire document was re-indexed for ease of understanding. The Anderson County Zoning Map has been updated it to show new city boundaries resulting from annexation as well as rezoning of some parcels within the county since the last revision of the map.

The entire document and map is available for review in the Public Works Office located in Room 127 of the Anderson County Courthouse Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.

Jail Inspectors   Three (3) Inspectors  [1 year terms] Voluntary non-paid positions T.C.A. § 41-4-116

(a) The county legislative body may, at its January term of each year, appoint (3) householders or freeholders,   residents of the county, of lawful age, to act as jail inspectors for the ensuing year, or the court may appoint such inspectors at any other time to act for a shorter period.

(b) The county mayor shall be an ex officio inspector of the jail in each county.

(c) It is the duty of the inspectors appointed to:

(1) Visit and examine the county jail once each month or oftener; (2) Make rules and regulations for the preservation of the health and decorum of the prisoners; (3) Decide all disputes between the jailer and the prisoners; (4) Provide for the restraint, by ironing or segregation of prisoners who offer violence to fellow prisoners or to the jailer or the jailers assistants, or for attempting to break jail; and (5) Make a report, at each meeting of the county legislative body, of the state and condition of the prisoners and the jail.

Legal Notice of Public Hearing

The Anderson County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public hearing at 9:00 a.m., April 17, 2006 in Room 312 of the Anderson County Courthouse, 100 North Main Street, Clinton, Tennessee, a request for rezoning of the following properties from C-1 to R-1. The properties are located at 2620 Andersonville Hwy, Clinton, and can be further described as a portion of Anderson County Tax Map 43, parcel 80.03.

WHEREAS, the Anderson County Regional Planning Commission has recommended that the properties located at 2620 Andersonville Hwy, Clinton, be rezoned from C-1 Commercial District to R-1 Rural Residential.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Anderson County Board of Commissioners does hereby amend the Anderson County Zoning Map by rezoning a portion of the property further described as Tax Map 43, parcel 80.03, from C-1 Commercial District to R-1 Rural Residential as presented on the map provided to this body.

 

This resolution shall take effect immediately after its notification and passage, the public welfare requiring it.

Due to the death of County Commissioner David O. Bolling, representing District Two, the Anderson County Board of Commissioners have placed the filling of this vacancy on the March 20, 2006 regular meeting agenda, 6:30 p.m. in room 312 of the Anderson County Courthouse.

 

The County Commission Office will be accepting resumes' for the Nominating Committee's consideration in filling the un-expired term of County Commissioner, District Two, term ending August 31, 2006.

 

Qualifications: T.C.A. §5-5-102(b) Members shall reside within and be qualified voters of the districts which they represent.

 

District Two includes the following voting precincts: Blockhouse Valley, Clinton, North Clinton and Glen Alpine precincts.

 

The deadline for filling a resume' will be Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at noon, in the County Commission Office, room 118 of the Anderson County Courthouse.

Notice of Regular Meetings of the Board of County Commissioners of Anderson County, Tennessee

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all County Commissioners and residents of Anderson County, Tennessee, and to all other persons who might be interested, that open, public, regular meetings of the Anderson County Board of County Commissioners during the 2006 year will be held on the third Monday of each month, except due to the observance of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., on the third Monday in January 2006, the regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2006.

 

The January, April, July, and October meetings will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m.; and on the third Monday of all other months at 6:30 p.m.

 

All meetings will be held at the regular meeting place of the Board, at the Anderson County Courthouse in Clinton, Tennessee. There will be considered at such meetings any matter which may properly come before the Board at regular scheduled meetings.
