Anderson County
Government's financial condition remains stable and the county continues to grow
despite the country's economic downturn. One of our goals is to continue
to expand our industrial and retail tax base. This expansion will ensure
we have the financial resources we need to provide the services our
residents expect from our county government.
This has been a busy and productive year for Anderson County in industrial
recruitment. Expansions of several existing industries added hundreds of
jobs and several more expansions are expected this year.
State economic and community development officials have named Anderson County
No. 7 in the state for the number of new jobs created, and No. 2 in the state
for the amount of investment made by local industry in 2010.
We continue to look for ways to improve the excellent services we provide.
For example, Anderson County was awarded grants to pursue the first phase of a
long range plan to bring public sewer to homes and businesses in the Claxton
community.
Here is a list of Goals I
targeted for my staff when I took office and our
accomplishments in the first
year. These take the support and help of many
other office holders, County Commission, and our employees.
I and my administration are committed to providing the most efficient,
professional services possible. Our county leaders are committed to
working together to find effective solutions to the challenges facing our county
in a way that minimizes the impacts on our county taxpayers.
